08 Jun “Walk the Working Waterfront” Tasting with Hannaford
Portland, ME, June 8, 2017 – As part of the 4th annual “Walk the Working Waterfront” community event, Bristol Seafood and Hannaford Supermarkets will host a meet and greet with freshly prepared seafood at Bristol’s headquarters on the Portland Fish Pier. Taking place on June 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., this unique occasion offers families access to dozens of waterfront businesses up and down Commercial Street as a fun way to spread awareness of Portland’s Marine Economy.
Visitors to Bristol Seafood will be able to taste family-friendly dishes created by Portland Chef Brett Cary, formerly of Eventide Oyster Company, that balance quality, price and taste. “It’s about promoting recipes that use high-quality, traceable, sustainably sourced seafood,” said Brett Cary. “When cooking for a family, this matters as much as taste.”
“We are excited to have the community visit Bristol for the third year in a row,” said Peter Handy, CEO of Bristol Seafood, “it’s important to us that our friends and neighbors here in Portland get the chance to learn more about our Maine-grown company and how they can find our quality products at their local Hannaford.”
Bristol Seafood is a leading supplier of quality fish to Hannaford Supermarkets. Hannaford has an ongoing commitment to sustainable sourcing and strives to be an industry leader in offering high-quality seafood.
“Our mission is to provide a good variety of fresh products, while making healthy affordable choices and meal planning easier for our customers,” said Leigh Chase, Seafood Category Manager for Hannaford. “Companies like Bristol Seafood make it easy for us to give families in Maine heart-healthy options that they can afford.”
